In the Beginning.....
Rockology were formed by Rod & Jai back in October of 2004 Purely by accident, one night in E.J's Bar –Torquay, where Jai's uncle Drew Millin was performing. Rod (guitar) & Jai (vocals) were currently performing together in the band "Somethin' Else" but had never performed as a duo. But that night Drew invited the Boys to get up and perform. After a brilliant acoustic version of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the water", Andy Oakley (of E.J’s bar) gave the lads there 1st gig. At the time they chose to call themselves "ACOUSTIC ROCK". Rod Scott - Guitarist....
Just when you thought you knew Rod, here's a little more info about the man himself. Rod started learning classical guitar at the age of 10. At 13 years old his parents bought him his 1st electric guitar (an old BURNS TRI-SONIC) and from there he found his love for Rock. Eventually at 17 he found himself playing in his 1st gigging band "Swamp Thing" . Rod and Jai actually met for the 1st time at a "Swamp Thing " gig, and instantly became good friends. Read More -->
Jai Darling - Vocals.....
Jai has only been singing for a couple of years, but is surprising a few people, as he has always been known as one of the best drummers in the Devon area . Jamie started drumming professionally at the age of 13. He originally started out like most kids..on pots and pans ! Although Drew Millin tried to teach him guitar, Jai was just interested in drums. Crossfire - The Band.....
CrossFire were formed by Jai & Rod back in 2005. In 2010 CrossFire recorded and released their Debut CD to celebrate 5 yrs !! But in 5 years CrossFire has gone from strength to strength performing @ Brixham Hap 'nin' and also Torbay Carnival for 2010. Crossfire have become one of the best bands in Torbay and surrounding area. So here's how the band came to be !! Just when Jai was enjoying the success of Rockology and a well deserved break from playing drums, E.j's Bar decided they wanted a Monday night Jam Nite. Who did they ask ? .... ROCKOLOGY !!!!!
