Biography....
Rod Scott - Guitarist
Just when you thought you knew Rod, here's a little more info about the man himself. Rod started learning classical guitar at the age of 10. At 13 years old his parents bought him his 1st electric guitar (an old BURNS TRI-SONIC) and from there he found his love for Rock. Eventually at 17 he found himself playing in his 1st gigging band "Swamp Thing" . Rod and Jai actually met for the 1st time at a "Swamp Thing " gig, and instantly became good friends.
After 3 years playing on the local circuit "Swamp Thing " called it a day. Rod was instantly snapped up by Exeter rock outfit "Psycho Candy". By this time Rod was getting himself known as one of the fastest guitarists around, by mixing his knowledge of classical and rock, with a style not unlike the great Yngwie Malmsteen. After a year of "Psycho", Rod decided to move on. He gigged with a couple of local groups in this time and also started teaching guitar and featured as a soloist at various music trade shows including a demo for Fender Guitars and also in his own right at "The National Music Show" held at the famous Wembley Arena Promoting his own material. He went on to release two solo albums, which he performed live on local TV.
Continuing his teaching, he decided to join forces with other local muso's. "Rockaria" was formed. Playing rock covers, the band performed in all the major music venues in the Devon area. On some occasions Jai would often turn up and join the band for a jam.
"Rockaria" came to an end, but as usual Rod was under great demand and ended up joining local band "Kickback" formerly known as "The Roulettes".A year or so later the band decided to expand. They employed the services of Nigel Pike on bass, Jai on drums and Vocals.. And even Rod's very own sister Sam Scott as lead vocalist. This, surprisingly was the 1st band Jai and Rod actually worked together on. The band gigged together for a good two years until Jai and Rod left to form "ROCKOLOGY"
The rest of course is history, Rod still teaches at local music shop "Applestone music" and is currently working on his 3rd solo album which Jai will be playing drums on ! Being on the scene for the past 20 years Rod says, "I've played in a lot of projects over the years but none that I've enjoyed more than being in ROCKOLOGY and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported us along the way."
